Description

Experience the comforting, rich flavors of a classic lasagna without the hours of layering and oven-baking. This clever skillet recipe combines tender chicken, delicate noodles, and a velvety cream sauce into one pan, making it the perfect quick solution for busy weeknights. Every component cooks together in a single pot, absorbing seasoned chicken broth and melting into perfectly cheesy, creamy delight. It is an elevated Italian-inspired meal that prioritizes both convenience and gourmet taste, perfect for any family dinner.

Ingredients

2 tablespoons olive oil
2 chicken breasts, cubed
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
2.5 cups low-sodium chicken broth
1 cup heavy cream
10 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
1.5 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

Heat the olive oil in a large deep skillet over medium heat.
Add the cubed chicken to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until lightly browned.
Stir in the minced garlic and Italian seasoning, cooking for about 60 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the pan to release any flavorful browned bits.
Add the broken lasagna noodles, pushing them down into the liquid, and bring to a simmer.
Cover and cook for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally to ensure the noodles cook evenly without sticking.
Once the noodles are tender and most liquid is absorbed, stir in the heavy cream.
Top with mozzarella and parmesan cheese, cover, and let simmer for another 2 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Ensure you maintain a steady simmer after adding the cream so the sauce reduces to a glossy consistency. If the skillet looks too dry before the noodles are fully cooked, add a small splash of water or extra broth. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator.
