Description
Crispy fried chicken tossed in a sticky sweet orange sauce, better than takeout.
Ingredients
1 lb chicken thighs or breasts
1½ cups flour
½ cup cornstarch
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
1 egg
1¼ cups water
1 Tbsp oil
Oil for frying
Juice and zest of 1 orange
2 Tbsp soy sauce
¼ cup vinegar
½ cup brown sugar
2 cloves garlic
1 Tbsp cornstarch + 1 Tbsp water
Instructions
1. Mix batter and coat chicken.
2. Chill briefly.
3. Fry chicken until golden.
4. Make orange sauce.
5. Toss chicken in sauce and serve.
Notes
Fry in small batches.
Serve immediately.
Adjust sweetness to taste.
