Description

A hearty, one-pan meal combining tangy sloppy joe sauce with pan-fried potatoes and ground beef. A perfect weeknight favorite with smoky flavors and no messy buns!

Ingredients

Ground Beef 1 Pound
Potatoes 4 Medium
Onion 1 Medium
Green Bell Pepper 1 Medium
Garlic 2 Cloves
Ketchup 1 Cup
Worcestershire Sauce 2 Tablespoons
Brown Sugar 1 Tablespoon
Chili Powder 1 Teaspoon
Paprika 1 Teaspoon
Sea Salt to taste
Black Pepper to taste

Instructions

Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil.
Dice the potatoes into ½-inch cubes and sauté them for 5-7 minutes, until they start to lightly brown.
Add the chopped onion and pepper; sauté for another 4-5 minutes until softened.
Add minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in ground beef, cooking until browned and no longer pink.
Mix in ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
Reduce heat to low, covered, and let simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Adjust seasoning and serve as is or slightly thickened.
Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Use a heavy skillet for even heat distribution. Leftovers reheat well and intensify in flavor after being refrigerated.
Can substitute ground turkey if preferred. Avoid overcooking the potatoes to maintain texture.
