Description

These juicy honey garlic boneless chicken thighs deliver a perfect balance of savory umami soy sauce and sweet, caramelized honey. Using high-quality chicken thighs ensures the meat remains tender and succulent, while a quick skillet sear followed by a brief oven-roasting creates a sticky, flavor-packed glaze. This straightforward, restaurant-quality meal is perfect for busy weeknights, requiring no marinating and minimal cleanup.

Ingredients

6 pieces boneless skinless chicken thighs
Salt and black pepper to taste
2 Tbsp salted butter, divided into two 1 Tbsp portions
6 cloves garlic, finely minced
3 Tbsp honey
2 Tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
1/2 tsp ground thyme
1/2 tsp ground ginger

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels and season liberally with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat 1 Tbsp of butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the chicken for 4-5 minutes per side until deep golden-brown, then remove from the skillet.
In the same skillet, melt the remaining 1 Tbsp of butter and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
Whisk in the honey, soy sauce, thyme, and ginger to create the sauce.
Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it thoroughly with the sauce.
Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake until the chicken is cooked through and the glaze is thick and bubbly.

Notes

Ensure you use a heavy, oven-safe skillet to maintain even heat distribution. If the sauce thickens too much in the oven, you can add a splash of water or chicken broth to thin it out. Serve immediately over steamed rice or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
