Description

This Iced Butterfly Pea Flower Tea Latte is a stunning layered drink made with vibrant blue butterfly pea tea and topped with smooth vanilla cold foam. Lightly floral, refreshing, and naturally beautiful, it’s perfect for summer drinks, brunch, or a relaxing afternoon treat.

Ingredients

For the Butterfly Pea Tea:

1 tablespoon dried butterfly pea flowers

1 cup hot water

For the Vanilla Cold Foam:

1/3 cup cold whole milk (or oat milk / almond milk for dairy-free)

1 tablespoon vanilla syrup (adjust to taste)

For Serving:

Ice cubes

Optional: honey or simple syrup for extra sweetness

Instructions

1. Heat water until hot but not boiling, then pour over dried butterfly pea flowers.

2. Steep for 5–7 minutes until the tea develops a deep, vibrant blue color.

3. Strain out the flowers and allow the tea to cool slightly or chill in the refrigerator for faster cooling.

4. In a blender, milk frother, or jar, combine cold milk and vanilla syrup.

5. Blend or shake for about 10–15 seconds until light, smooth, and slightly foamy.

6. Fill a tall clear glass with ice cubes.

7. Pour the cooled butterfly pea tea over the ice, filling about three-quarters of the glass.

8. Slowly pour or spoon the vanilla cold foam over the top to create a layered effect.

9. Serve immediately. Stir gently if desired or enjoy the layered presentation.

Notes

Use a clear glass to showcase the beautiful blue and white layers.

For a color-changing effect, add a few drops of lemon juice—the tea will turn purple.

Adjust sweetness with honey, agave, or flavored syrups.

Do not pour hot tea over ice directly to avoid dilution and melting.

For extra foam, use barista-style milk or shake longer.

Best enjoyed fresh, but brewed tea can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
