Description

Experience the perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savory in these vibrant Hot Honey Chicken Bowls. Succulent, pan-seared chicken thighs are coated in a sticky, garlic-infused honey glaze and served over fluffy rice with fresh, crunchy vegetables. This nutrient-dense dish is a restaurant-quality meal that is simple enough for any weeknight, using pantry staples to deliver a complex, smoky depth of flavor that everyone will enjoy.

Ingredients

1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs
3 tbsp honey
1-2 tbsp hot sauce
1 tsp smoked paprika
2 cups cooked rice (white, brown, or quinoa)
3 cups fresh vegetables (cucumbers, avocado, red cabbage)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp red pepper flakes
2 tbsp olive oil
Fresh cilantro and lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

Pat the chicken thighs dry with paper towels to ensure a superior golden-brown sear.
Mix garlic powder, smoked paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
Rub the seasoning blend evenly across both sides of the chicken thighs.
Combine honey, hot sauce, butter, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes in a small saucepan.
Heat the glaze over low heat until the butter melts and the garlic is fragrant; set aside.
Heat olive oil in a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
Sear the chicken in the skillet until golden brown and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side.
Remove chicken from heat and toss with the prepared honey glaze until well coated.
Assemble the bowls by layering rice, fresh vegetables, and the glazed chicken.
Garnish with fresh cilantro and lime wedges before serving.

Notes

Use raw honey for better body in the glaze. If you prefer a leaner dish, boneless skinless chicken breasts can be substituted for thighs. Adjust the hot sauce quantity based on your personal heat tolerance.
