Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (85/15 or 90/10 lean)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 medium onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups broccoli florets
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp brown sugar
1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
1 tsp cornstarch
1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
Instructions
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it into small crumbles, until browned.
Add the diced onion to the beef and sauté until softened.
Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
Add the broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes until they become bright green and crisp-tender.
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, and cornstarch.
Pour the sauce mixture over the beef and broccoli.
Stir constantly for 1-2 minutes until the sauce bubbles and thickens into a glossy coating.
Serve immediately over steamed grains.
Notes
Use high-quality tamari instead of soy sauce to make this recipe gluten-free. For a deeper flavor, let the beef brown well before adding the onions. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
