Description

Elevate your weeknight dinner with these tender, herb-infused baked chicken meatballs paired with a rich, creamy orzo. By utilizing Havarti cheese and ranch seasoning, these meatballs remain juicy and flavorful, while the hot honey glaze adds a perfect sweet and spicy finish. The dish is complemented by a velvety orzo base featuring crispy halal beef bacon crumbles, creating a sophisticated and comforting meal that is as simple to prepare as it is satisfying for the entire family.

Ingredients

1 lb Ground Chicken
1 cup Havarti Cheese, shredded
1/2 cup Italian Breadcrumbs
1/2 cup Halal Beef Bacon crumbles
1/2 medium Sweet Onion, finely diced
1.5 cups Uncooked Orzo
3 cups Chicken Broth
1 cup Milk
1 large Egg
1 tbsp Ranch Seasoning
1 tsp Kosher Salt
2 tbsp Hot Honey

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, shredded Havarti, breadcrumbs, egg, ranch seasoning, and salt until well incorporated.
Roll the mixture into 1.5-inch spheres and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, using the broiler for the final 3 minutes to achieve a golden-brown finish.
While meatballs bake, sauté the diced onion in a pan, then add the orzo, broth, and milk, simmering until the liquid is absorbed and the orzo is tender.
Stir the beef bacon crumbles into the cooked orzo.
Remove meatballs from the oven, drizzle immediately with hot honey, and serve over the creamy orzo.

Notes

Ensure you shred the Havarti fresh for the best melting texture. The beef bacon provides a savory depth; ensure it is fully cooked and crispy before adding to the orzo for the best texture contrast.
