Description

Swedish Meatball Pasta Bake is a comforting casserole made with tender pasta, frozen homestyle meatballs, and a rich, creamy Swedish-style gravy. An easy oven-baked dinner perfect for busy weeknights and family meals.

Ingredients

2½ cups dry rotini pasta

50 frozen homestyle meatballs (½ oz each)

Sauce

6 tablespoons butter

½ cup all-purpose flour

4 cups beef broth

1½ tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon garlic powder

½ cup half and half

1 tablespoon parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

2. Bake frozen meatballs on a baking sheet for 12 minutes.

3. Cook rotini pasta until al dente, drain, and set aside.

4. Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat.

5. Stir in flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

6. Slowly whisk in beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

7. Whisk until smooth and simmering.

8. Add half and half and parsley.

9. Cook 10–15 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened.

10. Spread pasta in a 9×13-inch baking dish.

11. Layer meatballs on top and pour sauce evenly over.

12. Increase oven temperature to 375°F and bake uncovered for 30 minutes until bubbly.

Notes

Frozen meatballs make this recipe quick and convenient.

Stir sauce constantly to avoid lumps while thickening.

Add a splash of broth for a thinner sauce if desired.

This dish can be assembled ahead and baked later.

Leftovers reheat best with a little added liquid.
