Description
A traditional Norwegian Rømmegrøt made with sour cream, milk, flour, and warm cinnamon sugar for a comforting Nordic breakfast.
Ingredients
2 cups sour cream
2 cups whole milk
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp salt
Sugar to taste
Cinnamon to taste
4 tbsp melted butter
Instructions
1. Warm sour cream over low heat until it releases butterfat.
2. Whisk in flour and cook until thickened.
3. Slowly add milk while whisking to create a smooth porridge.
4. Simmer 8–10 minutes until creamy.
5. Season with salt and serve with melted butter, cinnamon, and sugar.
Notes
Keep heat low to avoid curdling.
Add extra milk if porridge thickens too much.
Traditionally served with spekemat for a festive meal.
