Description
Soft and moist lemon poppy seed scones topped with a bright lemon glaze. Easy bakery-style scones perfect for breakfast or brunch.
Ingredients
1 cup heavy cream
8 tbsp butter, melted
2 cups all-purpose flour
6 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 1/2 tbsp poppy seeds
1 tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
Zest of 1 lemon
2 cups powdered sugar
3-4 tbsp milk or half-and-half
1 tbsp lemon juice
Instructions
1. Chill cream and melt butter.
2. Mix dry ingredients with lemon zest.
3. Combine cream and butter, then mix into dry ingredients.
4. Scoop dough and chill briefly.
5. Bake until golden.
6. Prepare glaze and drizzle over scones.
Notes
Do not overmix dough.
Chill dough for best shape.
Adjust glaze consistency as needed.
