Description
Fresh strawberry pie made with juicy strawberries and a crunchy graham cracker pretzel crust. A refreshing homemade strawberry dessert perfect for summer.
Ingredients
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/2 cup chopped pretzels
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup granulated sugar
8 tablespoons melted butter
2 pounds fresh strawberries
3/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup boiling water
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
1. Combine graham cracker crumbs pretzels pecans and sugar.
2. Mix in melted butter.
3. Press mixture into springform pan to form crust.
4. Refrigerate crust while preparing filling.
5. Blend 1 1/2 cups strawberries into puree.
6. Add sugar boiling water and cornstarch and blend.
7. Cook mixture in saucepan until thick.
8. Stir in vanilla extract and cool slightly.
9. Mix remaining strawberries with glaze.
10. Pour filling into crust and refrigerate until set.
Notes
Use fresh strawberries for best flavor.
Chill pie for at least 2 hours before serving.
Serve with whipped cream if desired.
