Creamy Ranch Chicken is a rich and comforting skillet meal made with tender seared chicken and a flavorful ranch-infused cream sauce. Perfect for easy weeknight dinners and budget-friendly meals.
Ingredients
2 large boneless/skinless chicken breasts, sliced thin
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1–2 tablespoons olive oil
10.5 oz cream of chicken soup
1 ½ cups milk
1 cup sour cream, room temperature
½ teaspoon onion powder
1 oz packet ranch seasoning mix
Instructions
1. Slice chicken breasts into 2–3 thinner pieces, about ½ inch thick. Pound lightly if needed.
2. Pat chicken dry and season both sides with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
3. Brush one side with melted butter.
4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
5. Sear chicken in batches for 4–5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
6. In the same skillet, add cream of chicken soup, milk, sour cream, onion powder, and ranch seasoning mix.
7. Stir until smooth and combined, then let simmer gently for 5 minutes.
8. Return chicken to the skillet and spoon sauce over the top.
9. Partially cover and simmer for 10 minutes until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
10. Serve hot with potatoes, rice, or vegetables.
Notes
Use room temperature sour cream to avoid curdling.
Do not overcrowd the pan when searing chicken.
Simmer sauce gently to maintain a creamy texture.
Add garlic powder or parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
Great served over baked potatoes or rice.
