Description
Easy homemade Salisbury Steak with Mushrooms simmered in rich brown gravy. A comforting one-pan ground beef dinner.
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (85/15)
1 egg
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 tbsp olive oil or butter
1/2 onion thinly sliced
8 oz mushrooms sliced
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
2 cups beef broth
1 tsp Dijon mustard optional
Extra Worcestershire sauce to taste
Instructions
1. Mix beef, egg, breadcrumbs, seasonings.
2. Form into oval patties.
3. Sear patties 3-4 minutes per side.
4. Remove and sauté mushrooms and onions.
5. Sprinkle flour and whisk in broth.
6. Simmer until thickened.
7. Return patties and simmer 10-15 minutes.
8. Serve hot.
Notes
Do not overmix beef.
Use low-sodium broth.
Great with mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
